January 2008: The end of an era
Titian Red announce the date of their final gig.
Yes, it's official - Titian Red are due to play their final gig at the Milestone, Ipswich, on 1st March 2008. It was a very hard decision to make as we're all such good friends, but the time has come to bring the band to a close. We all have such busy lives nowadays, and finding that extra time between gigs to learn new material and organising rehearsals on evenings that we can all attend has become increasingly more difficult the past few years. Rather than just bumble along playing the same songs gig after gig - with the danger of things sounding stale (for both the audience and ourselves) - we have set a date to say thank you and farewell to you all.
As individuals, we won't be disappearing from the local music scene though. Some of us are already in other bands (Tim & Andrea are in 'The Inflatables'; Todd is in Dirty Trix) and the others may already have a trick or two up their sleeves just waiting in the wings.
We'll post any further details about the farewell gig on this website. As always, we thank you for your support and friendship, and we look forward to seeing you in the near future - either in Titian Red, or any other projects.

November 2007: The end of an era
It's been a tough decision to make, but Titian Red have decided to bow out gracefully from the local music scene. Our last gig will be on 1st March 2008 at the Milestone, Ipswich. We aim to go out with a bang and make this a special evening for all. More details to follow.

August 2007: 10 Years of Titian Red! - Update
As it's such a hard decision to know where to host our celebrations, we've decided to spread the festivities over several gigs! Starting with the Railway (Ipswich) on 1st September and the Milestone (Ipswich) on 21st we'll be blowing the dust off some of your favourite old tracks that we used to play (you'll have to tell us your favourites so we can make sure we include those!) and maybe even try to raise a bit of money for charity - who knows what will happen!
Keep checking the website for further updates...

August 2007: 10 Years of Titian Red!
Our first gig was in September 1997, so we'll be celebrating our 10th anniversary in Ipswich with a gig that will summarise our 10 years as a fun-loving rock/pop covers band.
...And We Need Your Help!
We'd like to invite you look at our setlist page, which has now been updated to include a full list of all the songs we've covered over the last 10 years. If there's any tracks on the list that you'd particularly like to hear us play, please email your suggestions to us.
We haven't decided on the date yet, but it will either be at the Railway (1st Sept) OR the Milestone (21st Sept). We'll let you know as soon as we've decided!

May 2007: NEW YEAR'S EVE at the Ipswich Railway!

Updated 18th September
2006: Neil In Spain: Many of you have been asking how
Neil is getting on in Spain, so we have selected a few notes
from his emails for you:
15th June 2006: "Hi All. Today is more or less the last day of
my course, in that I have no more work to do. The time has gone
pretty quickly. This afternoon I will be sampling local culture
by the pint while watching England stroll to victory in the world
cup. Next week I'm going to Madrid then on to Salamanca for a week
to speak English to some doctors for week. (free board and lodgings).
Then I think I will come back to Sevilla and look for work if
I havent found anything by then. Early next week I will be
going to COrdoba about a teaching job maybe try to get an interview.
It's been hard work but really really good and definitely a great experience.
I've met some funny funny people. I've now got a myspace site as of today. There´s
not much on it yet but if you sign up for myspace we can leave messages photos
and stuff. Just search myspace - you'll get it.
I'll have more time to keep in touch next week!!!!!!
Hasta luego
Neil"
13th July 2006: "Still waiting to hear about the
interview, so who knows. Its quite hot during the day here but
nice and cool in the evenings. This school is f*****g bonkers.
No birds"
21st August 2006: "Buenas! It's been a really busy week. Thursday
before last the fiesta started in La Alberca and continued for
about 5 days.
In Plaza Mayor in the village they set up a stage and every
evening there was a band or orchestra playing. The street was full of people
dancing and drinking of all ages. Most nights the dancing and drinking continued
until 5am or after. Absolutely crazy. The music was also being played
until this time.As it was fiesta most things have, been closed all week,
including the internet. In the evenings here it is very cold. During fiesta
I was wearing t-shirt, shirt, fleece and a jacket. I also boght myself a scalf.
We're 1000 m above sea level . Also last week it rained... A lot. I leave here
on 29th August. To where I havent decided yet.
I havent been able to secure myself a job yet but will be
looking very hard and telephoning places this week.
This weekend I went to Valladolid and Burgos which was good,
more cathedrals and statues. Apparently Burgos has got something to do with El
Cid, but I'm not sure what.
It sounds like the airports in GB are a bit of a nightmare
at the moment, so I am hoping to sort stuff out here so I dont need to come
back until it settles down.
Hope you are all well, see you soon!
Neil"
17th September 2006: "Hi all. I had my first day at work
last Friday teaching English to 7,8 and 9 year old spanish kids.
Great fun. Playing games mostly with a bit of English thrown in.
All the other staff seem great and have just let me get on with
it...for the moment anyway.
I have found somewhere to live which is in the San Basilio area of Cordoba. It
is quite near the river and the Mezquita - Cordoba's star attraction. The area
is very old with winding narrow streets and whitewashed buildings. Last night
I went to a free Flamenco concert in some old garden thingy
that used to be a castle or something, bloody old anyway. Good stuff. I start
teaching Mon-Fri at 4.30pm and finish at 8.30. The rest of the time I am free
but I have to plan lessons.
The next time off is Xmas, so hope to see you then." |

2006: New 'Links & Free Stuff'
page has been added to this site. Here you'll find links to other
local bands, free games, free software downloads, links to venues,
and other useful music-related services.

2006: Neil is trying his luck (again!) abroad - he's
hoping to set up a new life in Seville, teaching English to the
Spanish. He will be stepping out of the band predominantly for
about a month starting near the end of May - and if he's successful
he may not be returning. As ever, Dominick Bacon (also ex Never
Angel) will be filling his shoes (with what?) while he's away,
and may possibly be joining us full time depending on how Neil
gets on. Watch this space!!

April
