All members have been in the business for a number of years. Ex-lead vocalist Michelle Brooks had previous experience in various local projects starting from her high school days. She had been forming a rock covers band for a couple of years with several different line-ups before 'Titian Red' finally happened.

Andrea Brown entered the scene simply after answering an advert for a vocalist early on in Michelle's search. Over the years, Andrea and Michelle have become close friends, and Andrea also became involved in the soul band 'Souled As Seen'.

Drummer Tim Turner (who has also been known to dabble with a guitar!) was part of Suffolk Rock and Pop winners 'Never Angel' for a number of years. Here is where he met bassist Martin Woollard and guitarist Todd Manning, who both joined after he did. Tim also took on the job of drumming for the 'Gordon Bennett Band' for a couple of years.

Todd and Martin both worked together originally at a sports centre and were both in separate bands then. A couple of years later they met again when Martin approached Todd and persuaded him to go for an audition for the band he'd just joined. Here they worked with Tim and vocalists Mike Kellard (who later formed 'Sarah's Lovers') and Kathy Scott (from a previous band of Todd's), playing their original material of indie/rock/pop. Whilst in 'Never Angel', Tim also joined forces with Michelle in her rock covers project. A couple of years lapsed with several line-up changes, and Martin was sharing a house with Todd, and had just joined up with Michelle's band. Todd filled a temporary rhythm guitarist's gap at a gig, and soon became a permanent fixture when the lead guitarist, Steve Newey, became a newly-wed and bowed out from the band. An advert then went out for a rhythm guitarist, as Todd took over the role as lead.

Neil Dedman came to the rescue (who incidentally went to school with Andrea). Neil says he'd rather not be reminded of his past bands, especially the punk / indie / rock flavoured 'Bazooka Tones'. Sorry Neil!

Sadly, Michelle decided to leave Titian Red at the beginning of the year 2000, but honoured some gigs at the first part of the year, and the search for a replacement started. After many auditions and a difficult decision from a shortlist, we welcomed Annamarie Gordon. Annamarie proved to be a hit with our dedicated followers and helped us to grow into an even stronger band, and a closer bunch of friends. Annamarie was with us until mid 2003 when she left the band to have a baby an concentrate on her life at home and possibly begin songwriting. After another batch of auditions, we were lucky to stumble upon Hadleigh girl Gaynor Marsh : a stunningly powerful voice and a great personality - ideal to join Andrea at the front and give the band an extra boost of confidence and an even better sound.
